Molokai Race Poster Unveiled (And It’s Awesome)

The 2014 Molokai 2 Oahu, the race that sold out in three hours, is set to be a cracker. We’ve got 2010 champ Dave Kalama feeling inspired and ready to take on the likes of 2013 winner Travis Grant, 2011-2012 title holder Connor Baxter, perennial bridesmaid Scott Gamble and Kai Lenny in what should be one of the most closely watched battles of the year.

The race is still almost three months away, but I get the feeling the Molokai news will be steadily streaming in over the coming weeks. After the Molokai start list was revealed last week, today we got a sneak peek at the official race poster. And I love it.

Designed by Hawaiian artist (and Molokai channel crosser) Mike Field (aka “MField“), the poster stirs up memories of those classic old Hawaiian Air posters and does a pretty good job of summing up what the race is about.
