Chuck Glynn Wins A Bottle Of Rum In The Cayman Islands


This weekend saw one of the more unique races on the SUP calendar go down: The Cayman Islands Rum Run. This is an event whose main drawcards seem to be a) an exotic location and b) the fact it’s sponsored by a rum company.

Official results and updates have been rather sparse, but we can confirm that Chuck Glynn won the 8.5 mile distance race in a time of 1 hour 13 minutes. The Laird StandUp team rider, who is quickly becoming one of the most elite paddlers in California, took out both the downwinder and the sprints.

We’ll try and get a hold of the full results and some pics from the Islands, but in the meantime we can tell you that Chuck walked away with what is perhaps the coolest trophy in the world of stand up paddling: A barrel and a few customised bottles of rum…
