Chase Kosterlitz, Fiona Wylde Win The SUP Salmon Classic

Chase Kosterlitz has won the SUP Salmon Classic in Washougal, Washington today.

A good chunk of the crew from last weekend’s massive Gorge Paddle Challenge stayed in the area for the Salmon Classic, which was less than an hour up the road. Chase was too strong in the 8 mile race – haven’t ID’d who got second but I know Brett Saguid beat home a Superman-style Belar Diaz for third place.

In the women’s it was Hood River hero Fiona Wylde taking out the win and the $2,000 first place prize.

Tough break for France’s rising star Arthur Daniel, who finished 2nd over the line but got DQ’d for missing a buoy. Arthur won in Tahoe a couple of weeks ago and beat some of the biggest names in the sport at the Gorge last weekend, so I’m sure we’ll be seeing his name on the podium again soon.
