In brief: Chase Kosterlitz and Danny Ching have earned victories at the Hal Rosoff Classic in Newport Beach, California, as over 150 paddlers came out for the 20th annual edition of this SoCal stalwart event. Other standout performers included Danny’s 404 team mate Ryland Hart, Chuck Glynn and Anthony Vela.
In the women’s, Shae Foudy made it a double win, taking out both the ‘Board Race’ and ‘Short Course’ events, with her SoCal sparring partner and definite name to watch, Erika Benitez, picking up a pair of silvers. → READ MORE
The first of two French Championships were held this weekend, with world #6 and vice-captain of Team Starboard Titouan Puyo taking out the 14′ national title ahead of world #11 Arthur Arutkin.
Held in picturesque Presqu’Île de Crozon, the event featured two days of racing that included a “fun” (but by all reports, still very competitive) surf race along with the main title event, the 15km distance race. → READ MORE
Greg Closier has taken out the Raid Paddle Race in France on the weekend, as six dozen paddlers enjoyed a wild and woolly 10km downwinder in the Gulf of Morbihan.
With a stiff breeze providing plenty of bumps and an overcast sky forcing paddlers to wear plenty of neoprene, the race for the prize was super tight. → READ MORE

One of Europe’s leading paddlers, Arthur Arutkin, has taken out the annual Lanakila Classic in Redondo Beach today.
The SUP race was only 3 miles (5kms), however that didn’t stop Arthur opening up a solid gap, finishing a minute and a half ahead of Greg and four minutes clear of third-place Daniel Russell. On the women’s side it was new-mom and Olympic gold medalist Krisztina Zur, just under a minute ahead of rising star Shae Foudy. → READ MORE
The 2014 French SUP Racing Championships are happening this weekend, with a spot on Team France and a ticket to the 2015 ISA World SUP Championship up for grabs.

Titouan Puyo has made a clean sweep of the Presqu’île Paddle Race in France, taking out both the downwind and beach race on the weekend.
Titou, the reigning ISA Distance Race World Champ, showed once again that he’s an absolute machine in the bumps, finishing the 16km run three minutes clear of his rivals. Those rivals included many of France’s finest, such as rising star (and Battle of the Paddle ‘Most Inspirational’ award winner) Martin Letourneur, Vincent Verhoeven, Gaetan Sene and Greg Closier (who was runner-up in the 12’6 class). → READ MORE
Greg Closier has notched up another victory in the long running and always entertaining Swell Beach Race Series in France. Closier came home half a minute ahead of rising star Martin Letourneur to claim the 7th and final race of the season at Penfoul Beach.

The Swell Beach Series, an event that’s quickly become a bit of a staple on the French SUP racing circuit, is back again this year. While the 2014 Series actually kicked last month, the first race of the new year was held on the weekend in little hamlet of Saint-Michel-En-Grève.
The BOP-style racing Series is held in various spots around the north-west region of Brittany and regularly features a bunch of France’s finest paddlers. On the weekend it was Greg Closier who took out the win ahead of young gun Martin Letourneur, with Yoann Cornelis 3rd and former Team France representative Gaetene Sene coming home 4th. → READ MORE
France’s Swell Beach Race Series continued yesterday, with European #1 Eric Terrien making his series debut and showing straight away that he’s still the King of SUP Racing in his home country. The air looked cold.
The water looked cold. Yet there were still almost 40 die hard SUP racers out in the water, including almost all of France’s top guys.
