Results are in from the big Watermans Paddle For Humanity event that was held in Washington DC on the weekend. Over 200 stand up paddlers came out for the fourth of five stops in the 2013 PFH series, making it another successful event for Watermans. Kevin Rhodes who was the quickest on the day, taking out the 10km race in just over an hour.

Aussie young guns Lincoln Dews and Jayden Jensen are heading to Florida for the Waterman’s Paddle For Humanity race in Deerfield Beach. The race, which is happening June 1st, will be the opening event in this year’s six-race PFH series.
Kelly Margetts (who finished 4th in the BoP Elite Race last September) set the precedent for Aussies at this event when he won the 2012 Paddle For Humanity Florida ahead of most of the East Coast’s finest. However Kelly has taken an indefinite break from serious racing and is handing over the reigns to the younger crew. He’s also running the new Lahui Kai SUP race team, of which Lincoln and Jayden are both a part of. → READ MORE
The schedule for the 2013 Watermans Paddle For Humanity series has just been revealed. There will be five SUP races between June and September, with the money raised going to worthy causes.
The Paddle For Humanity is SUP’s largest national race series. The event dates back to 2009 and since then has raised thousand of dollars for a bunch of different charities.
As for the racing; the 5K Fun SUP Race and 10K Elite SUP Race make their return in 2013, but this year there’s also a new twist: the mysterious sounding “Rule 7 Race“. → READ MORE

The race usually involves a combination of tortuous sand runs and Battle of the Paddle-style laps in and out through the waves. But Washington DC isn’t exactly known for its white sandy beaches, so I’m guessing the organisers decided a SUP derby smash up was the next best thing. → READ MORE
The latest event in the Watermans Paddle For Humanity SUP race series hit it off in Washington DC on the weekend. Over 170 paddlers came out for the 5K and 10K SUP races, as well as the chaotic Chuck Patterson Rally.
Slater Trout and Annabel Anderson took out the top spots in the 10K’er, while Infinity’s hipster-in-residence, Dave Boehne, finished 2nd before going on to claim victory in the carnage-filled Chuck Patterson Rally. → READ MORE

Connor Baxter has won the first Watermans Paddle For Humanity race of 2012.
Baxter took out the main event at the Dana Point race, beating home Fernando Stalla (who’s been in fine form lately) and fellow Maui young-gun, Slater Trout.

The Watermans Paddle For Humanity, one of the biggest charity SUP race series going round, has gone all in this year.
First they upped the ante by announcing 2012 would see a five race series across the States, and now they’ve released a stellar lineup for the opening race on April 28th @ Dana Point.
Chuck Patterson is, according to the official press release, “headlining” the event. Not sure when stand up paddlers became rock stars, but it’s always cool to see the big man in action.
